While all locations of Crossnore Communities for Children could be called Miracle Grounds, the particular building that is home to the Coffee Shop has occupied a colorful place in the history of the town of Crossnore, NC.
Historians believe the building was built sometime in the 1920s, making it one of the oldest commercial buildings in Crossnore. The Coffee Shop building is constructed of stone from the Linville River, just as many of the town’s historic buildings are, including Crossnore Weavers and Fine Arts Gallery, E.H. Sloop Chapel, and Crossnore Presbyterian Church.
Crossnore Communities for Children acquired Miracle Grounds in February 2006. Phillip and Chantae Johnson and Mark and Gina Johnson Aldridge owned the building until 2006. The Pixie Motor Inn is a family owned and operated motel just one Block from the Intersection of U.S. 221 & N. C. 105. It is located in Avery County at the base of Pixie Mountain at 4150 Mitchell Avenue in Linville, North Carolina, a small resort town tucked away in the Blue Mountains. The Pixie Motor Inn is said to be “In the shadow of famous Grandfather Mountain,” which is two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway Viaduct. A Pixie Inn postcard from the 1960s stated the inn was “Air-conditioned by Nature.” They have since installed air conditioning in all the rooms. The mountain’s summit reaches an elevation of 4,058 feet (1,237 m). The Linville Bypass (NC Hwy 181) goes around Pixie Mountain on its western side. The mountain is adjacent to the Linville River.

Terry and Debbie Perry own and operate Perry’s Berry’s Vineyard & Winery. What started as a way to bring our family closer together has grown into a passion to help others experience the same. Terry spent many summers picking blueberries in the mountains of North Carolina. Debbie’s descends from a farming family. The Perry’s desire for their four grandchildren to experience the joy of picking blueberries grew into a family business. In 2013, with the help of family and friends the Perry’s opened their blueberry farm to the public.
The farm was established in 2009.
The Perry’s have planted over 3500 blueberry bushes. In addition to offering pick your own blueberries, they supply blueberries to local breweries, grocery stores, bakeries and ice cream shops. There are several bee hives located throughout the farm for pollination of the berries. You will also find Scuppernong and Muscadine grapes, as well as pears, apples, plum and cherry trees on the farm.
Perry’s Berry’s Winery was added in July 2020. We are excited to offer our Blueberry Wine made with 100% blueberries from our farm.

Linville Falls Campground, RV Park & Log Cabin Rentals located in Western North Carolina, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at junction of US 221, is shaded by a cool forest of stately oaks. While all locations of Crossnore Communities for Children could be called Miracle Grounds, the particular building that is home to the Coffee Shop has occupied a colorful place in the history of the town of Crossnore, NC.
Historians believe the building was built sometime in the 1920s, making it one of the oldest commercial buildings in Crossnore. The Coffee Shop building is constructed of stone from the Linville River, just as many of the town’s historic buildings are, including Crossnore Weavers and Fine Arts Gallery, E.H. Sloop Chapel, and Crossnore Presbyterian Church.
Crossnore Communities for Children acquired Miracle Grounds in February 2006. Phillip and Chantae Johnson and Mark and Gina Johnson Aldridge owned the building until 2006. It had been in the Johnson family for as long as anyone can remember. Crossnore Communities for Children thanks the Johnson family for their longtime support!
Our friend, Conrad, selects the coffees from all over the world and roasts them in nearby Boone, North Carolina. Many varieties grow on organic farms and Conrad purchases all of the coffees in fair-trade business agreements. The Pixie Motor Inn is a family owned and operated motel just one Block from the Intersection of U.S. 221 & N. C. 105. It is located in Avery County at the base of Pixie Mountain at 4150 Mitchell Avenue in Linville, North Carolina, a small resort town tucked away in the Blue Mountains. The Pixie Motor Inn is said to be “In the shadow of famous Grandfather Mountain,” which is two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway Viaduct. Owned by the Hughes family, the Pixie Motor Inn has 25 modern clean grade A rooms, telephones and cable TV. A Pixie Inn postcard from the 1960s stated the inn was “Air-conditioned by Nature.” They have since installed air conditioning in all the rooms. The Pixie Motor Inn also provides play areas for children, free ice for cooler, convenient access to championship golf courses and local restaurants (The Tartan Restaurant is next door at 1 Hemingway Drive).

The Belle at Avery, built in 1890 is located in historic downtown Morganton NC. The combination of Colonial Revival and Victorian era design elements are maintained in this newly renovated home. This property was formerly a school, a bed and breakfast and is a short walk to craft breweries, restaurants, music venues and everything downtown Morganton has to offer.
Boulevard Barbeque was founded in 2019 by Michael Samolinski and Alexander Randall, both of whom originally resided in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Over the course of seventeen combined years of experience in the restaurant and customer service industry, Mike and Alex found their passion – smokin’ and servin’ barbeque. Boulevard Barbeque first opened in February 2020, and its sole location is in Morganton, North Carolina.
At Boulevard Barbeque, we smoke our fresh pork shoulders low and slow for sixteen hours with Hickory wood. All of our original sauces and rubs are made in-house by our very own “smokeologist” with inspiration from North Carolina and Missouri recipes.
