Motorcycle Ride Information

The Python’s Prey, Ride #4 of the PineolaPython181.com motorcycle ride is a similar but alternate route. The main motorcycle ride of the Pineola Python 181 runs from Pineola North Carolina to Morganton North Carolina. This motorcycle ride offers  miles of twists and turns, passing lanes going north or south on the highway, the Brown Mountain Lights Overlook, several off road pull offs, waterfall hikes, back country campgrounds sites, gas stations, restaurants, RV campgrounds, live music, and an elevation change of over 2000 feet and beautiful mountain landscapes and views no matter what season.

The PineolaPython181.com motorcycle ride starts and ends at, “The Mountain Boomer” right across from the Blue Ridge Parkway milepost 312. The Mountain Boomer serves slow cooked pulled port, smoked salmon, beer, serving bar, live music, clean bathrooms and plenty of seating inside and out. Plenty of parking so your group can gather before and after the ride.

Python’s Prey Notes:
So before you get into the downtown area of Morganton the ride will take you Right at the post office on 64 and bypasses downtown Morganton passing by the Town Tavern of Morganton. At the next traffic light take a Right on to Route 70 for a very short distance then Take a Left on Jamestown Road. Just pass the Carolina Diner on your right get on Interstate 40 West. Travel 3 Exits on the fourth exit get off Interstate 40 on Harmony Grove Road. Then a Left back onto Route 70 in to downtown Marion North Carolina where the roads intersects with Business 221. Follow this road pass many businesses and lodging. Highway 221 brings you back up the mountain in to the High Country mountain region. Dont forget to stop at North Cove Leisure Club for live music, food and drink. They are inside the Disc Golf Clubhouse called Birdies at North Cove. Then you will pass Linville Caverns Attraction and Linville Falls Winery on your right. Dont forget to checkout Linville Falls Campground if your looking to spend the night. Follow the winding road into Crossnore and take a break and stop at the Pineola Lodge for food, live music, and lodging; the base-camp for motorcycle adventure.

After the Pineola Lodge and the Italian Restaurant at the intersection you will take a right back onto 181 South and end back at the Mountain Boomer Restaurant for a quick stop some BBQ and a beer.
